Julissa Martinez
Attorney at Law
Julissa Martinez has advocated for clients for over 20 years in the areas of criminal, family and juvenile law.
As a former state prosecutor for the Ellis County District Attorney's Office, Julissa prosecuted misdemeanors, felonies, juveniles and protective orders. Respected and trusted for her skills and experience she was deemed as Special Prosecutor for the Dallas, Navarro and Johnson County District Attorney's Offices. Julissa was admitted to the Northern District Federal Court of the United States.
Julissa is a proud Aggie having received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and served as an Adjunct Professor for Texas A&M School of Law. Julissa earned her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
As past president of the Ellis County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Julissa has presented Continuing Legal Education topics before hundreds of other Attorney's across the metroplex.
Julissa is a fierce advocate for families and veterans. She currently serves as chairwoman for the Mental Health Defense Committee in Ellis County.
Shani Flemins
Attorney at Law
Shani Flemins has been a criminal defense and juvenile law attorney since 1991. With over 30 years of experience, Shani has practiced in all of the surrounding counties – Collin County, Dallas County, Denton County, Ellis County, Rockwall County, and Tarrant County. She advocates for clients in both state and federal court and has decades of trial experience.
Ms. Flemins assists clients in almost all aspects of criminal defense including but not limited to all misdemeanor and felony cases.
She is admitted to practice in all Texas courts, and the Northern District of Texas (federal court). Shani is a graduate of Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
She is an adjunct professor at UNT Dallas College of Law, teaching a variety of criminal law courses. She was an adjunct professor at Dallas College, where she taught Business Law. She is an active member of the Ellis County Bar and The Ellis County Criminal Lawyers Association.
